Diet and Foraging
Diet
Based on small sample of eight stomach contents examined by Franke and Salinas (2001) the Russet-bellied Spinetail appears to be omnivorous, with arthropods making up 70% of its diet. The species predominantly feeds on winged insects and spiders with the remaining 30% of its diet consisting of seeds and plant material (Franke and Salinas 2001).
