Introduction
The Rufous-naped Greenlet is fairly common in foothill and subtropical forest, second growth, and edge in the mountains of western Venezuela, Colombia, and northern Ecuador. Adults have a rich rufous crown and nape contrasting with a grayish white face and underparts and olive-green upperparts. The species is found singly or in pairs foraging with mixed-species flocks in the forest canopy and subcanopy. Often most easily detected by its distinctive voice, Rufous-naped Greenlet may be an important nuclear species in north Andean mixed flocks. Many basic aspects of its biology remain undescribed.
