Demography and Populations

Introduction

Rufous-winged Ground-Cuckoo generally is considered to be a rare and local resident that occurs at low density throughout range (Parker et al. 1996, Hilty 2003). However, it is listed as Uncommon in Iwokrama Forest Reserve in central Guyana; it may be more numerous there than elsewhere in its distribution (Ridgley et al. 2005).

Population size unknown; but the trend is decreasing (Birdlife International 2017).

Extent of occurrence 915,000 km2 (Birdlife International 2017).

There is no information on topics such as age at first breeding, life span and survivorship, dispersal, or population regulation for Rufous-winged Ground-Cuckoo.
