Distribution

Distribution in the Americas

Restricted to mangroves, and ocassionally adjacent habitat, near Cienaga Grande in northern Colombia.

Distribution outside the Americas

Endemic to the Americas.

Habitat

The Sapphire-bellied Hummingbird occupies coastal mangroves, though it is also seen in adjacent arid shrub vegetation. It is mainly seen alone at various heights within mangrove forests (Hilty and Brown 1986).
