Diet and Foraging
Diet
Sand-colored Nighthawk is insectivorous, but its diet is not known in much detail. These nighthawks have been observed foraging at swarms of winged termites (Sick 1993). The contents of the stomachs of three specimens included bugs (Hemiptera), beetles (Coleoptera), and ants (Hymenoptera: Formicidae) (Schubart et al. 1965).
