Distribution
Distribution in the Americas
Slaty-backed Nightingale-Thrush occurs in humid montane forests of Costa Rica and Panama, and in the Andes from Venezuela and northern Colombia south to central Bolivia.
Distribution outside the Americas
Slaty-backed Nightingale-Thrush has not been reported outside the Americas.
Habitat
Slaty-backed Nightingale-Thrush inhabits the dense undergrowth of moist and humid forests of the subtropical and lower montane zones (600–3250 m; Wetmore et al. 1984, Clement 2000). Frequently found near streams.
