Diet and Foraging

Diet

The main diet of the Silvery Tanager is fruits, berries, and invertebrates (Restall et al. 2007). Some fruits that are eaten by this species are coffee berries and melastomes (Isler and Isler 1987). Isler and Isler (1987) report the contents of 4 stomachs: one contained vegetable matter, 2 contained animal matter, and 1 contained both. Contents included seeds and spiders.
