Priorities for Future Research

Introduction

Although Slaty-tailed Trogon is relatively widespread, some aspects of its natural history are still poorly known. There is very little information available on its reproductive biology, territoriality, or on such demographic topics as age at first breeding, life span and survivorship, dispersal, home range size, or population regulation. Additional information about its response to various human activities that affect its habitat and better data on population status will be valuable in informing conservation planning and actions.
