The IUCN Red List conservation status of Spot-fronted Swift is evaluated as Data Deficient, as it "is known only from a few specimen and sight records, and there is no information on the true extent of its distribution, populations size or trends" (BirdLife International 2014). Nonetheless, the population is "suspected" to be stable (BirdLife International 2014).

Effects of human activity on populations

Human activity is not known to have many effects on Spot-throated Swift.
