Priorities for Future Research

Introduction

Spot-throated Hummingbird is fairly common, is widespread, and occupies relatively open, accessible habitats, but almost all aspects of its natural history are very poorly known. There is almost nothing known about its diet and reproductive biology, and nothing is known about its tolerance for habitat disturbance. Nothing also is known about demographic factors such as population density, life span and survivorship, dispersal, or population regulation for Spot-throated Hummingbird.
