Breeding

Introduction

Very little information. Only one described nest, "at the end of a 35 cm. deep. 10 x 6 cm. wide, gently sloping hole in the ground ... on a west facing, pebbly slope, not well hidden in bunch grass, a few m. from tall Puya raimondii plants" (Vuilleumier, in Vaurie 1980). Also nests in adobe walls (Fjeldså and Krabbe 1990). The nest reported by Vuilleumier contained two nestings, and was discovered in October. Fledglings also have been reported in January, and juveniles from March through June (Fjeldså and Krabbe 1990).
