Demography and Populations

Introduction

The population size of Tacarcuna Chlorospingus has not been quantified, although it appears to be decreasing (BirdLife International 2015). This species is described as uncommon (Stotz et al. 1996) or locally fairly common (Restall et al. 2007, Hilty 2011), with a high sensitivity to disturbance and a center of abundance in the Upper Tropical zone (900-1600 m) (Stotz et al. 1996). No information is available on the age at first breeding, life span, survivorship, parasitism, or population regulation.
