Sounds and Vocal Behavior
Vocalizations
The calls of Tamaulipas Crow are "burry, low-pitched, and relatively low in volume, and sounds something like a frog croaking softly" (Davis 1958). These calls are described as "short, low, guttural to hoarse, frog-like calls ahrrr or arrhk, a doubled rrah-rrahk or ahwr ahwr, and a buzzy zzr, etc." (Howell and Webb 1995).
For a representative audio recording with sonogram, see audio
There are surprisingly few audio recordings of vocalizations of Tamaulipas Crow; additional examples can be heard at Macaulay Library, at xeno-canto, and at Internet Bird Collection.
