Breeding

Introduction

There is no information on the reproductive biology of Tepui Tinamou; the nest and eggs are undescribed, and there is no information on the seasonality of breeding. Presumably, the eggs are glossy and colored, unspotted and porcelain-like, and the nest is a shallow scrape on the ground, as in other tinamous. Two of the four specimens collected on Auyán-tepui in February had enlarged gonads (Barrowclough et al. 1997).
