Vocalizations
Vocalizations described by Howell and Webb (1995) cited that far-carrying calls include a melow, rolling aahr, and a more laughing kah ha and kah ha-ha-ha-ha, etc.
The vocalizations are similar to those of the Maroon-fronted Parrot, but the distributions of the two species do not overlap.
Forshaw (1989) mentions a sharp kuk-kuk-kuk-kuk-kuk that may be given by several parrots at once, creating a noisy 'cackling' effect.
