Although it is uncommon to fairly common in its range, Thicket Tinamou is a secretive bird that is difficult to observe. Compared to other species of forest-inhabiting tinamous, its life history is relatively well known, but there is still little information on its diet and reproductive biology, as well as topics such as life span and survivorship, dispersal, population regulation, molts, territoriality and population density, and sexual behavior. Further research also is warranted to investigate the tolerance of Thicket Tinamou to habitat degradation, the rate of habitat loss or degradation within its range.
