Demography and Populations
Introduction
There is no estimate on the population size of White-bellied Dacnis. However, it does not reach to the thresholds needed to be listed as vulnerable, and there is no evidence for declining population trends (Ridgely and Greenfield 2001, BirdLife International 2016). Even though the population size is considered to be stable, the species is still categorized in rare and patchily distributed (Parker et al. 1996, Aleixo et al. 2011, Alonso et al. 2012). There is no information on the age at first breeding, life span and survivorship, diseases and parasites, dispersal, or other potential population regulations.
