Diet and Foraging

Diet

White-banded swallows are aerial insectivores. The diet has not been studied in detail.  Haverschmidt (1968) reported the following insects as stomach contents of White-banded Swallow: bees (Apidae, Hymenoptera), chalcid wasps (Chalcididae, Hymenoptera), ants (Myrmicinae, Formicidae, Hymenoptera), elaterid beetles (Elateridae, Coleoptera), typical bugs (Heteroptera), and brachyceran flies (Brachycera, Diptera).
