Priorities for Future Research

White-throated Antpitta is fairly common, but it has a restricted distribution, and as is typical of Grallaria antpittas, it occupies dense habitats and is very difficult to observe. Consequently, most aspects of its natural history are very poorly known. There is no information on its reproductive biology, and the diet is not known in any detail at all. There also is no information on factors such as territory or home range size, population density, age at first breeding, life span and survivorship, dispersal, population regulation, molts, and sexual behavior for the White-throated Antpitta.
