Priorities for Future Research
Introduction
There are still several areas of research regarding the White-whiskered Puffbird that have yet to be explored. There is little or no information on topics such as the molts, age at first breeding, life span and survivorship, dispersal, or population density and regulation. The habitat associations of the puffbird are not studied in detail. Further, there has been little work in the genetics and systematics of the genus Malacoptila.
