Distribution
Distribution in the Americas
Yellow-browed Tody-Flycatcher is resident in the lowlands of central South America east of the Andes. Its distribution extends from eastern Colombia east, north of the Amazon River, to the west bank of the lower Rio Negro in north central Brazil. It also occurs south to central Bolivia and east, south of the Amazon, to eastern Pará and to northern Maranhão.
The elevational range of Yellow-browed Tody-Flycatcher extends up to 500 m in Colombia (Hilty and Brown 1986), to 600 m in Ecuador (Ridgely and Greenfield 2001a), to 1000 m in Peru (Walker et al. 2006, Schulenberg et al. 2010), and to 1300 m (Macleod et al. 2005) in Bolivia (rarely up to 1900 m; Hennessey et al. 2003).
Distribution outside the Americas
Endemic to the Americas.
Habitat
Yellow-browed Tody-Flycatcher occupies the canopy of humid lowland forest (both terra firme and varzea forests), tall second growth, and clearings with scattered tall trees (Hilty and Brown 1986, Ridgely and Greenfield 2001a, Schulenberg et al. 2010).
