Introduction
A fairly common resident in Middle America, Yellowish Flycatcher is found from southern Mexico to western Panama. The upperparts are basically olive green, with pale lores and a pale lemon almond shaped eyering and dark brownish wings with two buffy or olive green wingbars. The underparts are primarily yellowish, although the extent and depth of this coloration varies. This flycatcher generally is found between 900-3000 m, in evergreen, broadleaf forest, but occasionally occurs in mixed pine-oak forests of upland areas. It feeds on both insects and small fruits; it shuns the company of mixed-species flocks. Although sometimes considered to be conspecific with the Empidonax difficilis complex, Yellowish Flycatcher is treated as a separate species in modern literature.
