Conservation

Yucatan Poorwill has a relatively broad distribution, and the population trend, although not quantified, is believed to be stable. Consequently the IUCN Red List status of Yucatan Poorwill is Least Concern (BirdLife International 2013). In Mexico Yucatan Poorwill is not considered as a threatened species.

The relative abundance of Yucatan Poorwill is assessed as fairly common to common (Howell and Webb 1995).

Effects of human activity on populations

Human activity probably has little effect on Yucatan Poorwill; there are no known threats to this species (BirdLife International 2013).
