Introduction

Yucatan Poorwill is widely distributed in the Yucatan Peninsula, but it is nocturnal and many aspects of its natural history are poorly known. There is very little information on the reproductive biology, apart from the descriptions of a few nests and eggs. The diet is not described in any detail. There also is no information on such topics as age at first breeding, life span and survivorship, dispersal, population regulation, territoriality and population density, and sexual behavior of Yucatan Poorwill.
