Tockus Red-billed Hornbill T. erythrorhynchus) Gr. negative prefix α- a- ; λοφος lophos  tuft of hair (cf. αλοφος alophos  without a crest); "In Habessinia littorali 9 species venati sumus, europaeum nullam: 1) Bucerotem Forskålii;  2) B. erythrorrynchum var. leucopareum (1 )  ...  (1 ) Buceros, Alophius, erythrorrynchus var. leucoparēus H. et E.   Statura fere et colore B. erythrorrynchi senegalensis, sed minor et oculorum area carneo-albente, nec atra, cauda longiore, pedibus gracilioribus, unguibus paullo longioribus.  Junior avis rostrum mere rubrum offert, adulta in gnathidiis nigricat, haec gulam deplumem, illa plumosam gerit.  Plura alibi tradam."
