Pygoscelis † Adélie Penguin P. adeliae) Gr. δασυς dasus  hairy, shaggy; ῥαμφος  rhamphos  bill; "EUDYPTES Vieill. †  ...   â€   Established by Vieillot in 1816 (Analyse, &c., p. 67.): but in 1825 he used Brisson's name of Catarractes for the same series of birds, and Chrysocoma of Mr. Stephens (1825) is coequal.  It embraces Dasyramphus of MM.
