(Charadriidae; syn. Anarhynchus † Caspian Plover A. asiaticus) Dim. < genus Eupoda von Brandt, 1845, plover; "I do not think that C. veredus can be generically differentiated from C. asiaticus, and as Brandt proposed Eupoda for the latter species, I am using that genus name for the former. As however some systematists may consider Eupoda preoccupied by the prior Eupodes (Koch, Deutschl. Crust., Vol. I., tab. 8, 1835; Jardine and Selby's Illus. Ornith., pl. 10, n.s., 1836), I propose for their use the genus EUPODELLA, nov., with C. veredus Gould as type." (Mathews 1913); "Eupodella Mathews, 1913, Birds Australia, III (1), p. 83.
