Lophophorus Himalayan Monal L. impejanus) Lady Mary Impey (1749-1818) collector of bird paintings, early aviculturalist who kept monal pheasants in captivity, and wife of Sir Elijah Impey (1732-1809) Chief Justice of Bengal 1774-1783; "CCII.e Genre. IMPEY; Impeyanus.  Monaul, Monaulus, Sonnini, Vieill.; Lophophorus, Temm.  ...  Nous ne conservons dans ce genre qu'une espèce, le vrai monaul, bien différent du Lophophore de M. Temminck par le bec.
