‡ (Struthionidae; syn. Struthio Ϯ Magyar Ostrich S. pannonicus) Gr. παχυς pakhus  thick, stout; genus Struthio Linnaeus, 1758, ostrich.  A replacement name for Struthiolithus, considered inapplicable because it was based on egg-shell fragments.
