(Charadriidae; syn. Anarhynchus † Wilson's Plover A. wilsonia) Dim. < genus Pagoa Mathews, 1913, plover; "American authorities have often rejected names on account of prior names differing in one letter only, and under such conditions Ochthodromus is untenable on account of the prior Ochthedromus (Le Conte, Ann. Lyc. Nat. Hist. New York, p. 453, 1848). For the species Charadrius wilsonia Ord, the alternative name PAGOLLA, nov., is here proposed." (Mathews 1913); "Pagolla Mathews, 1913, Birds Australia, III, p. 83. New name for Ochthodromus Reichenbach, 1852, considered preoccupied by Ochthedromus Le Conte, 1848 (Coleoptera)." (JAJ 2021).
