(Charadriidae; syn. Anarhynchus  Two-banded Plover A. falklandicus) Antoine Joseph Pernety (1716-1801) French priest, botanist, chronicler, pioneer settler on the Falkland Is.; "Leucopolius  should be used for the group called by Seebohm  Ægialophili minores and falklandicus (which is placed in his Ægialophili majores). This is divisible into three subgeneric groups— Leucopolius (s. str.) for all save falklandicus, pecuarius, and sanctæhelenæ; PERNETTYVA (subgen. nov.), with C. falklandicus Latham as type, and HELENÆGIALUS (subgen. nov.) with A. sanctæhelenæ (Harting) as type, including pecuarius."
