- Dendrophassa
(Columbidae; syn. Treron † Buru Green Pigeon T. aromaticus) Gr. δενδρον dendron tree; φασσα phassa pigeon; "Z. B. bei der Gewürztaube, (Dendrophassa aromatica, Columba ar.,) welche auf beinahe allen ostindischen Inseln wohnt und hauptsächlich von Muskatnüssen nebst ähnlichen, stark gewürzhaften Fruchtkernen leben soll. Diese Nahrung mag wohl auch ihrem Fleische jenen schönen, gewürzhaften Geruch mittheilen" (Gloger 1841); "Dendrophassa Gloger, Gem. Hand-u. Hilfsb. Nat. p. 359, 1841. Var. Drophassa.- PETROPHASSA
(Columbidae; Ϯ White-quilled Rock Pigeon P. albipennis) Gr. πετρα petra rock; φασσα phassa pigeon; "A highly interesting Pigeon from the north-west coast, which, as it differs from all the other forms of its family, and is said to inhabit the rocks, I propose to make the type of a new genus with the name of Genus PETROPHASSA. Characteres generici.— Fere ut in Peristera. Alæ autem et rotundatæ sunt et admodum breviores; deest etiam color metallice æneus. Cauda magis rotundata. PETROPHASSA ALBIPENNIS. ... Hab. Western Australia. Allied to the members of the genus Peristera." (Gould 1841); "Petrophassa Gould, Proc. Zool. Soc. London, 1840 (1841), p. 173. Type, by monotypy, Petrophassa albipennis Gould." Var. Etrophassa.- Phassa
(Columbidae; syn. Ptilinopus † Yellow-breasted Fruit Dove P. occipitalis) Gr. φασσα phassa pigeon; "Genus Phassa Heine [Rhamphiculus (!) Bp. 1854]" (Heine 1890); "Phassa Heine, in Heine and Reichenow, 1890, Nomencl. Musei Heineani Ornith., p. 281. New name for Rhamphiculus, i.e. Ramphiculus Bonaparte, 1854, considered incorrectly formed." (JAJ 2020).
