Novipulsatrix

(Strigidae; syn. Pulsatrix † Tawny-browed Owl P. koeniswaldiana) L. novus  new; genus Pulsatrix Kaup, 1848, owl; "Subgenus Novipulsatrix Subgen. Nov.  Type.— Pulsatrix sharpei Berlepsch, Bul. Brit. Orn. Club, Vol. XII, 1901, p. 6.  Characters.— Toes entirely bare; culmen acute or sharply ridged; tail averaging over three-fifths the length of the wing. Abdomen with whitish ground color.   ...   Birds of this group are smaller, wings less than 220 mm., the primary and tail feathers strongly barred with white or buffy white.  Dr. H. C. Oberholser has examined specimens and the paper, and concurs with the above." (L. Kelso 1933); "Novipulsatrix L.
