ANHIMA

(Anhimidae; Ϯ Horned Screamer A. cornuta) Tupí names Anhuma or Inhuma  black bird, for the screamer or some other large bird; despite their strange, gamebird-like appearance the screamers are primitive Anseriformes, related to the Magpie Goose Anseranas and wildfowl Anatidae; "Rostro conico-incurvo. . .Alis corniculis binis in parte anteriore armatis: corniculo cylindraceo antrorsum arcuato in fronte. . . .Anhima.
