On 29th December 1995 a single individual of Golden-chested Tanager (Bangsia rothschildi) was perched at the side entrance to its mossy nest. The nest was situated directly above the trail to Pueblo Nuevo (500 m), C√≥rdoba department (NW Colombia),  in older second-growth woodland on a cross branch about 10 m up, and exactly matches the description given in Hilty and Brown (1986) for that of its Central American counterpart, the Blue-and-gold Tanager (Bangsia arcaei), confirming their conclusion that the nests were similar.
