David A. Buehler is a Professor of Wildlife Science in the Department of Forestry, Wildlife, and Fisheries, University of Tennessee in Knoxville, Tennessee, USA. He received his B.S. and M.S. degrees in Wildlife Ecology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1978 and 1981. He received his Ph.D. in Wildlife Science from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 1990. The title of his dissertation was "Bald Eagle distribution, abundance, roost use, and response to human activity on the northern Chesapeake Bay." His research has focused on the ecology and management of the Bald Eagle in eastern North America since 1984.
