Priorities for Future Research

Introduction

Population size should be clarified specially in the core of its distribution, in Peru. Also, it would be useful to understand the drivers of its decline in the areas where now is marginal or extinct (Ecuador, Chile, Bolivia). Additional studies of its breeding biology and other aspects of its natural history are needed outside of Ecuador, where most research on the species has taken place.
