Introduction
As a common and adaptable barbet, this species should be studied in terms of breeding biology and ecology as a matter of priority, as there is very little information documented on any barbets. In addition, its interactions with sympatric species and the effects on its range and abundance should be investigated, as should the drivers of its apparent range expansion in certain areas.
