Distribution

Distributed across eastern, northern, and western Madagascar in native forest formations, but is only very local on the central plateau, and is absent from the far south and southwest of the country; also in the western Comoros, on Mohéli and Grand Comoro (1).

Historical Changes to the Distribution

None known, but range on Grand Comoro has obviously contracted in recent decades.
