Movement

Generally sedentary, although some breeders in southern China may winter in southeastern Asia (11). Mostly resident in Australia and tropical Asia, with some local movement related to rains and some seasonal shifts in elevation (11); congregates around abundant food. Breeding pairs sedentary.
