Movements and Migration

Migration Overview

Data are limited. An increase in population density above 2,600 m on Mt Giluwe during the dry season suggests there may be some limited altitudinal movements, although it is unclear whether such events constitute an annual movement, or simply a more casual shift in response to dwindling food supplies (35).
