Diet and Foraging
Introduction
Very few data.
Feeding
Poorly known.
Microhabitat for Foraging
Most active in the early morning, when it forages on the ground—reportedly in a manner similar to that of the European Robin (Erithacus rubecula)—occasionally venturing onto trails and paths (13). Typically, however, Great Shortwing forages among leaf litter, mossy clumps, and on lichen-covered logs (13).
Diet
Almost entirely unknown, but presumably forages on insect larvae and other invertebrates (13).
