Movements and Migration

Movement

During the breeding season, individuals not attending the nest move from the colony to the coast after dark, returning to the colony shortly before dawn. Non-breeding birds migrate north as far as Ecuador and south to the Los Lagos Region in Chile.

Gray Gull moves to non-breeding grounds in the austral winter, between March and August (19).
