Heuglin's White-eye (Zosterops poliogastrus).

Note, bright-yellow throat and broad white spectacles around the eyes. Black bill is a good feature to differentiate from the similar Abyssinian White-eye (Zosterops abyssinicus).

Possible confusion species: Abyssinian White-eye (Zosterops abyssinicus).

Note slightly more gray upperparts, slightly more narrow eye-ring, slightly lighter yellow throat, and light-colored bill.

Adult dorsal view (subspecies poliogastrus).

Bright yellow forehead and forecrown with a white eye-ring 1–2 mm wide and a narrow black line through lores and lower front edge of eye-ring. Crown and upperparts are green; the tail and wings are both dark brown with green outer edges.

Adult ventral view (subspecies poliogastrus).

Note the yellow chin and throat, gray breast-sides with a gray band across upper breast and white belly.

Adult lateral view (subspecies poliogastrus).

Note the bright yellow forehead and forecrown with a white eye-ring 1–2 mm wide and a narrow black line through lores and lower front edge of eye-ring. Crown and upperparts are green; the tail and wings are both dark brown with green outer edges.
