Priorities for Future Research

Introduction

The O'ahu 'Ö'ö, Hawai'i 'Ö'ö, and Kioea are extinct, and the Kaua'i 'Ö'ö and Bishop's 'Ö'ö are probably extinct. Genetic (DNA) research might prove interesting. Additional paleontological findings may reveal more information on historical abundance, distribution, and habitat use.
