Conservation and Management

Not globally threatened (Least Concern). Considered a restricted-range species, but present in all three of the Sumatra and Peninsular Malaysia Endemic Bird Area, the Java and Bali Forests Endemic Bird Area, and the Sulawesi Endemic Bird Area (35). Poorly known and infrequently recorded, thus difficult to accurately assess, although its confinement to remote elevations renders it unlikely to be immediately threatened by habitat loss.

Effects of Human Activity

Information needed.

Management

This species occurs in Gunung Leuser National Park on Sumatra (27), Mount Gede Pangrango National Park on Java, and in Lore Lindu National Park on Sulawesi (9, 2). It has been suggested that the species should be searched for also on Gunung Lokilalaki and Gunung Dali, in the near environs of Lore Lindu National Park (2).
