Introduction
The Pacific Flatbill is a flycatcher restricted to coastal areas of northwestern South America. Found below 1000 meters in elevation along the Pacific Coast of Colombia and Ecuador, the species inhabits lower levels of humid forest and secondary growth. This flycatcher has a broad, flat bill, is dark olive above with blackish wings edged in rufous, and has yellow-olive underparts. Similar in appearance to the somewhat more colorful Fulvous-breasted Flatbill, the Pacific Flatbill replaces that species at lower elevations.
