Dispersal and Site Fidelity

Interestingly, evidence from the only three ringed birds is strongly suggestive of high site fidelity for this species: one Principe Scops-Owl individual was captured in the same location on two different occasions (July 2018 and January 2019; 1); one individual ringed in January 2019 was recaptured in October 2021 in the same area (300 m away from capture point) and has, since then, been regularly seen at the same place by different birding groups (Yodiney Santos, personal communication). No other information is available on this species' dispersal patterns or site fidelity.
