Introduction
Se sabe muy poco sobre este colibrí Casi Amenazado. Pirre Hummingbird es poco común, y está restringido a un área de distribución muy pequeña en el este de Panamá y el noroeste de Colombiadonde ocupa bosques húmedos en el pie de monte y las tierras altas. Pirre Hummingbird suele forrajear en flores de arbustos o árboles pequeños a niveles bajos o medios dentro del bosque. La cola, en su mayor parte canela, visible tanto en machos como en hembras, ayuda a su identificación.
