Priorities for Future Research
Introduction
Very little is known about the biology and natural history of Ruvu Weaver. Any new information will be valuable, but a few particular points will be highlighted as useful for further observations and research. It is likely polygamous, but this needs to be confirmed. Similarly, it is presumed that the male builds the main structure of the nest with the female lining it and conducting all parental duties, but this too needs to be confirmed. More eggs need to be described to ascertain the range of variation of colors and markings, and determine normal clutch size in the species. Recording the displays and calls at breeding colonies would be very useful. Observations in the non-breeding season should determine if the males are seasonally dimorphic. Records of diet and general behavior are also needed.
